This entire journey has been a very staggering one. From wavering band dynamics to reinforced guidance from our producer, we’ve been pushed and pulled into depths that couldn’t have crossed our minds going into this. Personally, I know I will take a great deal of this back with me as my drive and confidence is now more powerful than ever.

Somehow…just somehow…Erik has actually enabled me to like the sound of my own voice. I’ve never been able to say that. I never thought I would.

This is bigger than us and we need to continue on this path no matter what. I don’t have time or patience to put up with bullshit…because time marches on and so do I.

Dude. You guys. I am so proud of this album. It will take some time before its ready for release but on that day, I might pee my pants.

A friend of mine was sexually assaulted out to dinner with a professor. When she told her story to her adviser, a dear friend of ours, she told him she wore a turtleneck and long pants and described her outfit. He cut her off and told her, “I don’t care if you were wearing a fucking bikini—nobody has the right to touch you.”

I think that was the first time in the whole process of talking to cops and administrators about what happened where someone actually told her it wasn’t her fault.

They make it about the clothes, the situation—“Why did you agree to dinner? Why didn’t you take your own car? Did you lead him on? For once, someone made it about her and her rights. I think this helped her most of all in the process. Everyone needs to respond like this to survivors, in my opinion.

Tomorrow will mark 2 weeks for us in Los Angeles and will most likely be our last day in the studio assuming that my voice is rested after an entire day of screaming. We are wrapping this up four days ahead of schedule which is fantastic but we are so anxious and eager to hear this in it’s entirety. We obviously knew going into this that this product would surpass our last EP, but Erik has done an excellent job in guiding us and developing what we hoped we had in us all along.

I have absolutely no idea when this album will be released or what the future holds for us…but I have high hopes and will set even higher expectations from here on out.
