This is my day, today.
Rounding out our first week in the studio and we’re a bit ahead of schedule. By a bit, I mean like, a week. Vocals will probably start on Monday. I’m considering flying home early if my predictions are true. I love it here in North Hollywood and I really love being in the studio but I miss my dogs and having my own space. I also miss estrogen.
So I’m going to walk to the liquor store and get drunk.
Yeah. I think I could live here. I would miss Michigan but this place could hold a slice of my heart, too. I feel like the lifestyle that many of the people have here is very similar to my mindset: focused in art, driven by creativity, very active and health-conscious. I feel like this is what Grand Rapids could be if it weren’t for our fat, lazy winters and super conservative fundamentalists.
Maybe if I could just have a Michigan vacation home from Labor Day to the first week of November.
Outside of our guest home:

Today is our fourth day in the studio and we’re still smack in the middle of drums. A lot of bangs and stuff.

This is Madden, the studio pug!
And Oscar, our host’s black lab who we get to see almost every morning.
You can lead a horse to water but you cannot teach it how to drink. If you’re unwilling to throw caution to the wind, you may as well watch as you let your horses sink.
